Key Responsibilities

The Chief Product Officer will have ownership of defining the product agenda, leading the company’s product development and innovation strategies. In addition, they will have ultimate responsibility for the technology stack and be responsible for ensuring that the engineering teams are able to fully deliver on new product development.

  • Future-proofing the business: Develop and deliver scalable strategies for product and platform development that support the needs and growth of the business internationally
  • Shape and lead the product roadmap: Define the product roadmap and lead its delivery to facilitate successful international expansion. Drive customer acquisition and retention, across multi-devices and all platforms through analytics, market data and feedback
  • Provide commercial and strategic direction: Support the wider commercial and strategic direction of the business as a member of the Bark leadership team
  • Provide overall leadership to the product function of the business: Work with all facets of the business, particularly with developers, UX specialists and designers to make sure that the technology, data and platform infrastructure is working to standard. Engage with external parties to bring in new thinking and approaches to constantly challenge and evolve the current solutions.

• Team & organisational development - A leader who can attract great product talent, build and nurture a high performing team dynamic. Experience managing large technology teams
• Cross-functional collaboration - A proven ability to deliver results through providing leadership across engineering, sales/marketing, service
• Scale-up - Has deep experience of operating within a high-growth, scale-up environment


• Product Expert - Expertise in all aspects of digital product development, design and content. Knowing how to deliver best customer experience
• Multi-device customer journey - Knows how to drive customer acquisition and retention, across multi-devices and platforms.
• Analytics & consumer insight - Track record in using analytics as core input into all decision making; seeks market data / feedback to inform strategy and product decisions. Has a thirst for consumer driven insight
• Content savvy - Managed content-rich portfolio of consumer applications; mind-set of building for consistency in UX and design across digital assets
• Technical / Engineering expert - Experience of managing teams with agile methodologies / scrum iterations for faster and iterative product enhancements. Must have managed engineering teams
• Hands on – Detail oriented and capable of being hands on and thriving in a fast moving, quality focused environment.
